CELEBRATING OUTSTANDING TEAMS
Entries Open for the 2023 New Zealand Commercial Project Awards
7 September
These prestigious awards recognise outstanding commercial construction teams that are shaping New Zealand’s landscape and providing the environments where we live, work, and play.
The NZ Commercial Project Awards are all about the project team’s collaboration, innovation, quality and how you overcome the challenges of the project together.
The size of the project, the team, and the contract value does not matter.
The awards have something for every project team – both big and small. We encourage you to enter so you and your team can celebrate your amazing commercial project that you brought to life together.
Contemporary Homes 2010 won a gold award and the Commercial Project under $1 Million Value Award at the 2022 New Zealand Commercial Project Awards for their Sunyata Yoga Retreat entry. As a residential building company with lots of success in House of the Year, this was the first time they had something they could enter in these awards – and they walked away with one of the top awards.
Given the number of high value entries in this category, Paul Richards of Contemporary Homes was pleasantly surprised to take out the win of the Value Award – Commercial Project Under $1 Million in 2022. Besides boosting his own team’s moral, Paul believes it is a good reminder of why lower value builds should not be put off entering the awards.
“This was our first entry, so it is great to be recognised first time around. Far from being just ‘another award,’ I see it as a big pat on the back for our team. For Contemporary Homes, which is smaller than a lot of the bigger players out there, it demonstrates that we can foot it with the best anywhere in the country.”
Why Enter?
You enter because you want to recognise the work of your project team and the journey you took together in bringing your project life – a great way to strengthen and celebrate your relationships.
You enter because we rarely celebrate the process of getting there. These projects can take years and the journey of how you got there deserves to be recognised - let's celebrate that together.
You enter so you get your chance to be recognised and celebrated for your achievements in your price bracket and so you can showcase your local project to national clients who operate all around the country,
Still not convinced? Hear from Mark Scown from Accent Construction Interiors and Tim Purdon from Projectability talking about the Massey Primary School Block One project they entered in the 2022 competition.
You do not need to be a member of Registered Master Builders to enter.

We are excited to announce a new permanent fixture in our Awards Categories, the BIM Award (Building Information Modelling).
Awarded at the judges’ discretion for use of technology that aims to shape the industry towards a more efficient and sustainable era, that improves the construction life cycle and identifies potential issues before they become real ones. All entries will be automatically entered into this award. |
